FAQ: What are the types of things my Higher Self can do for me?

All of us are here on the Earth as spiritual beings who are having human experiences. We have chosen these human experiences in order to learn the lessons that are necessary to our growth and perfection in the ways of truth and love. We are constantly given opportunities to learn those lessons.

When we seem to have learned those lessons, we are tested to make sure that we have truly learned them. If we fail the test, we get new chances to learn the same lesson. If we pass the test, we advance to the next set of lessons that are needed to expand our awareness and refine our character.

The goal is to become fully perfected so that we can become co-workers with God in the unfolding majesty of His creation. The point of all experience is to teach and not - as it often seems - to punish.

Once you reach a certain stage of awareness, the nature of your experience on Earth can begin to be transformed with the help of your Higher Self. This type of personal transformation can take many shapes:

1> Renegotiating Your Contract: When you were born, you and the Lords of Karma agreed about what you wished to accomplish while you were here. You labor under this "life contract" until your body dies or until you complete everything listed in it or until you request to have it renegotiated. Your Higher Self can help with this renegotiation which can improve the circumstances of your life.

2> Reducing Your Pain: If the universe has determined you have learned the lessons pain has to teach you, you can shed whatever physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual pain you are in. More importantly, you can learn the true spiritual purpose it has served in your life. Often just getting this knowledge automatically leads both to a deeper level of healing and a higher level of awareness.

3> Revealing Your "Right Livelihood": It is a spiritual truth that if you hate your job, you are not involved in doing your true life's work. Perhaps it is because you have not found your right livelihood. Or, if you have, that pursuing it would involve a huge risk of some kind (financial, emotional, etc).

Work is not meant to be something you hate, fear, and go to enormous lengths to avoid. Work is meant to be like play in that you love it, you enjoy it, and you cannot get enough of it. This kind of "play work" is your right livelihood.

Your Higher Self is generally quite willing to connect you with your right livelihood for the simple reason that it will bring you joy. Your joyfulness will speed up bringing you back to God (which is the primary mission of all Higher Selves).
