For me, the beauty of the path of Kabbalah can be understood by
contemplating this Kabbalist poem: "The boundless void containing all,
Where all is light: No start, no end, But tending to a point, Of
mirrored unity, Which is itself." Contemplating different passages
in the Bible by deeply analyzing them is the essence if this path.
Probing the "boundlessness" of scriptures and commentaries "where
all is light", the Kabbalists search for that "mirrored unity"
where the truth is revealed "which is itself" is an amazing journey.
In prayer you proceed from chamber to chamber. When an alien thought
comes, you are expelled, because you are judged in every chamber whether
you are worthy to enter. "To You, God, is greatness, strength, modesty,
victory, awe, for all that is in heavens and earth; to You, God, is the
kingdom." (1 Chronicles 29:11)
Come out my Beloved, the Bride to meet; The inner light of Shabbat,
let us greet.
"Observe" and "Remember" in a single word, He caused us to hear, the
One and Only Lord.
God is One and His Name is One, For renown, for glory and in song.
To welcome the Shabbat, let us progress, For that is the source,
from which to bless.
From the beginning, chosen before time, Last in deed, but in
thought - prime.
Sanctuary of the King, city royal, Arise go out from amidst the
turmoil.
In the vale of tears too long you have dwelt, He will show you the
compassion He always felt.
Arise, now, shake off the dust, Don your robes of glory - my people
- you must.
Through the son of Yishai, the Bethelemite, Draw near to my soul,
set her free from her plight.
Wake up, wake up, Your light has come, rise and shine. Awaken,
awaken; sing a melody,
The glory of God will be revealed upon thee.
Wake up, wake up: Be not ashamed, nor confounded, Why are you downcast,
why astounded?
In you, refuge for My poor people will be found, The city will be
rebuilt on its former mound.
May your plunderers be treated the same way, And all who would devour
you be kept at bay.
Over you Your God will rejoice, As a groom exults in his bride of
choice.
May your plunderers be treated the same way. And all who would devour
you will be kept at bay.
Over you Your God will rejoice. To right and left you'll spread abroad,
And the Eternal One you shall laud.
Through the man from Peretz's family, We shall rejoice and sing happily.
Behold! "The Mighty One is my Salvation
I shall therefore be confident, and will not be afraid!
For my strength and my song is God, The Master of All,
And He Has Been for me a Salvation!"
And you shall draw water with joy, From the Springs of Salvation.
Blessed are You, Holy Master, our God, King of the Universe,
Who creates the fruit of the vine.
Blessed are You, Holy Master, our God, King of the Universe,
Who creates various species of aromatic spices.
Blessed are You, Holy Master, our God, King of the Universe,
Who creates various sources of fire.
Blessed are You, Holy Master, our God, King of the Universe,
Who Distinguishes between the holy and the mundane,
Between light and darkness, Between the People of Israel and others,
Between the Seventh Day and the Six Days of Activity,
Blessed are You, Holy Master, Who Distinguishes between the holy and mundane.
Master of all the worlds! To you, it is revealed and known that
I am not engaged in all of this for my own glory, but rather for the
glory of your name, for the glory of the oneness of your being, so
that I will know you, how to serve you and bless your name. Enable
me to search for you, discover you. Strengthen, embolden me.
Enlighten my eyes lest I sleep the sleep of death. Create a pure
heart for me, O God; rejuvenate within me a steadfast spirit!
Master of all the worlds! You are the cause of causes who drenches
the tree of life with the flow - the flow that is like a soul for the
body, life for the body. In you there is neither likeness within or
image of anything within or without. You created everything... so
that the beyond might be known - who above and below conduct themselves
and how they become known. About you, no one knows anything.
Apart
from you, there is no union above and below. You are known as the
Lord of All... you pervade all names; you are the fullness of them all.
When you disappear from them, all those names are left like a body
without a soul... You show how the world is conducted by justice and
compassion according to human action!
We are thankful to you, for it is You, God our God, and God of our
Forefathers, for all eternity; Rock of our lives, Shield of our salvation
are You from generation to generation. We shall thank You, and relate
Your praise -
For our lives, which are in Your hand, and, for our souls
which are entrusted to You, for Your miracles that are with us every day,
and Your wonders and favors in every season, evening, morning, and
afternoon.
You are One and Your Name is One; and who is like Your people Israel,
one nation on earth. The splendor of greatness and the crown of salvation,
the day of contentment and holiness have You given to Your people.
Avraham
would rejoice, Yitzchak would exult, Yaakov and his children would rest on
it, a rest of love and magnanimity, a rest of truth and faith, a rest of
peace and serenity and tranquility and security, a perfect rest in which
you find favor. May your children recognize and know that from You comes
their rest, and through their rest, they will sanctify Your Name.
You are mighty, Lord, who brings healing to the sick, You are great
in granting salvation, providing the living with sustenance, with loving
kindness, caring for the sick with great mercies, supporting the fallen,
healing the sick, releasing the captive, and keeping faith with those
who are lost among the living,
Who is like you, Master of mighty acts,
and who compares to you, King who restores health, and causes salvation
to sprout, You who are faithful, comforting the ill among us, Blessed
are You, Lord who heals the sick.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, heed my plea for mercy. In time of trouble
I call You, for You will answer me. When pain and illness are my companions,
let there be room in my heart for strength. When the days and nights are
filled with darkness, let the light of courage find its place. Help me
endure the suffering and dissolve the fear; renew within me the calm
spirit of trust and peace.
We praise you, O God, Healer of the Sick.
Heal us, O Lord, and we shall be healed; save us, and we will be saved,
for the one we praise is You. Bring complete healing for all our sicknesses,
for O God, for You are our faithful and compassionate Healer and King.
Blessed are you!
