Background: The most important learning about negative thoughts-emotions is:

When you say "I am [whatever negative emotion]" like "I am depressed", you are saying you are the emotion, which you are not... you just have the emotion awhile. For example, when you say "I have depressed feelings", you are recognizing that you are not your feelings... that there is a real difference between who you are and what you are feeling (which is temporary and will pass).

When you say
"I think [whatever negative thought]" like "I think I am not good enough", you are saying you are the thought, which you are not... you just have the thought awhile. For example, when you say "I have negative thoughts", you are recognizing that you are not your thoughts... that there is a real difference between who you are and what you think (which can always be changed).
This means you are free to let any and every unwanted thought and feeling go... only you have the power to choose what you say, do, think, and feel.

Goal: This version of the Sedona Method has been modified to make it more consistent with the teachings of karma. This method can help an individual to remove the NEGATIVITY of GRIEF, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, SADNESS, HOPELESSNESS, HELPLESSNESS, etc from their mind and emotions.

Preparation:

1> Most people need to do this exercise daily for at least a month before they begin to feel the effects of sustained emotional release. So you will probably need to have some patience with the process. Yet if you are patient and have a sincere desire to heal, you will be successful in letting go of unwanted thoughts-emotions.

2> Remember to do this process slowly. You must focus on completely relaxing your body and your mind so that the emotional release can be processed quickly and harmoniously. Each time you do this exercise you will go ever more deeply into yourself. The deeper you go, the more you will clear unwanted baggage.

3> Ask for your Higher Self, your Guides, your Guardian angels, and whatever other servants of the universe you like to be present for the entire session and to keep you safe and protected at all times while releasing unwanted baggage.

4> Being comfortable is the key. You can lie down (recommended) or sit up. If you opt to sit up, you must be supported and feel fully relaxed and comfortable. Be sure to loosen any restrictive clothing.

5> Do this exercise in a peaceful place where you will be completely quiet and undisturbed for the entire session when you are fairly well rested (so you will NOT fall asleep). You must consciously FOCUS on all this for it to work. This entire exercise should last for NO longer than 45 minutes (it is best to do this in bed upon waking). Set an alarm or timer to snap you out of it should the session run longer.

How to Do This Exercise:

1> Connect with the feeling FULLY... Feel NEGATIVITY (whatever that thought-feeling is for you: whether that is GRIEF, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, SADNESS, HOPELESSNESS, HELPLESSNESS, etc).

Feel fully what it is like to really BE NEGATIVE... Hold that feeling for a moment and really allow yourself to experience it... You are already feeling it so what is the difference if you lean into the feeling?

2> Now ask yourself, "Could I let this bad feeling of NEGATIVITY go?" Listen for what your mind says in response.

Usually there is NO objection from your mind to a "could I" question: since, as an unlimited being, you can do anything you want.

3> Now ask yourself, "Would I let this bad feeling of NEGATIVITY go?" Listen for what your mind says in response.

Here is where your mind might offer up an objection to what you are asking. Listen closely to what it is... the answer you may get might really surprise you and it may often offer up the inner belief that you have which is standing in the way of what you want.

Here is where you can start digging into your mind about what the need you have (usually security, control, or approval) that is causing you to act in ways that you know do not serve you... but you cannot stop yourself from doing... until now because you want to change.

Talk to your mind and find a way to turn it from saying "no" to this question to saying "yes" to letting go of the NEGATIVITY (especially any SELF DOUBT) you are thinking about or feeling.

4> Now ask yourself, "When would I let this bad feeling of NEGATIVITY go?"

There is only one answer to this question, "Now!" Because the only moment you can ever do anything in is this one! Once you let it go, take a short exhale of breath to signal your body that you truly have let things go... This also helps to release the negative emotions triggering your NEGATIVITY from your cellular memory.

5> You must put something in place of the bad feeling. In place of NEGATIVITY, you would want to have feelings of POSITIVITY (like JOY, HAPPINESS, or CALM). So pick a specific good feeling to replace the bad feeling with.

6> Now ask yourself, "Could I accept this good feeling (whatever POSITIVE feeling you have picked) into my life now?"

Listen for what your mind says in response. Usually there is no objection from your mind to a "could I" question... since as an unlimited being, you CAN be, do, or have anything you want.

7> Now ask yourself, "Would I accept this good feeling of POSITIVITY into my life now?" [This is the most important question of all!]

Listen for what your mind says in response. If you mind has been agreeable until now... here is where it may fight you. Again here is where you can start digging into your mind about what the need you have (usually security, control, or approval) causing you to resist having what is for your good... until now because you want to change.

Talk to your mind and find a way to turn it from saying "no" to this question to saying "yes". Make the good feeling of POSITIVITY more important than the bad one of NEGATIVITY.

8> Now ask yourself, "When would I accept this good feeling into my life?"

There is only one answer to this question, "Now!" Because the only moment you can ever do anything in is this one! Once you accept it in, take a short inhale of breath to signal your body that you literally bringing the good feeling into it, altering your cellular memory.
This is something that you need to get into the habit of doing. It took you awhile to get into the old bad habits that you have... so it will take awhile to let go of them and start creating new good habits. Yet if you work at it, you CAN climb over your bad past feelings like NEGATIVITY and you CAN learn to replace it with good feelings like POSITIVITY or any other feeling you want to have.

Example: Fans of the Sedona Method will notice that there have been slight changes to the original method... necessary to make it consistent with the teachings of karma. Mainly, this has been to remove the aspect of "hootlessness" (better known as "Karmic Fatalism"). You CAN change: this exercise can help!
