Food#32: The Paradoxical Commandments -
Do Good Anyway
Better than the 10 Commandments
"People are illogical, unreasonable, and self centered...
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives...
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true enemies...
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow...
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable...
Be honest and frank anyway.
Those with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest minds...
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but only follow top dogs...
Fight for the underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight...
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them...
Help people anyway.
Give the world your best and you will get kicked in the teeth...
Give your best anyway.
Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness."
If followed, these Paradoxical Commandments can help you to become your
Higher Self. Your Higher Self is the most perfect form of "you" that
exists in the universe. It is "the you" that you will be after you have
evolved through all your cycles of reincarnation. It always wants to
help you as much as possible.
Your Higher Self is always gently guiding you on your journey through
life. Its guidance manifests itself in your life in many ways: as a
still small voice, as vivid images, as flashes of insight, and as intuition
and knowingness.
Your Higher Self has only one goal. That goal is to bring you back to your
true home which is God. The primary means that your Higher Self has for
accomplishing this goal is to keep you firmly attached to the path of growth
you have agreed to undertake in this lifetime through your physical, mental,
and emotional issues.
