Short Description: Trimethyla Minuria
Trimethyla Minuria (TMAU) is a condition where the sufferer's body produces and secrets the chemical, trimethylamine, which smells like dead fish.

Causes: From the perspective of past life karma, TMAU is a desperate solution to an intractable karmic problem. Those who suffer from it have deeply ingrained, long standing patterns of unloving thinking. By literally stinking they are literally trying to - from a Soul level - break these patterns of unloving thinking.

* Shallow-Superficial: These TMAU sufferers measure all by superficialities like external looks and material success. In past lives, they believed if you were good looking or rich that you were good and if you were not that you were worthless (some people still suffer from this "ancient Greek prejudice" today). Yet the TMAU sufferer would take this to extremes: it would color their perceptions and drive their actions. Now, TMAU acts to both to spoil their beauty and to get others to look down on them. By experiencing what it is like to be on the "ugly" side of the coin, TMAU will break the grip of shallowness and superficiality.

* Superior-Self Righteous: These TMAU sufferers tend to feel superior and to act self righteous. In past lives, they often held high positions of power which gave them every reason to think well of themselves. While self love and self esteem are important to have, if carried to extremes, they lead to arrogance and intolerance. The TMAU sufferer would often take this to extremes in the past causing these patterns to be even more deeply ingrained. Now, TMAU acts to "take them down a notch" because it is hard to be superior if you have a problem causing other to look down on you. The goal is to break the grip of self righteous superiority.

* Smug-Smart: These TMAU sufferers tend to feel smug because they are certain they are ten times smarter than anyone else. In past lives, they usually distinguished themselves by attaining the highest academic honors. The highly intelligent TMAU sufferer will look down at all others around them. Now, TMAU acts to "take them down a notch" because it is hard to be smug when you are stinking. No matter how smart a person is, if they stink, no one will want to be around them. The goal is to get the intellectuals to "get down off their high horse", to recognize that intelligence does not create superiority, and to become more humble.

The karmic problem is that the TMAU sufferer's patterns of thinking have served them well in past lives. Each time the individual reincarnates, they quickly reattach to these thought patterns which only deepens their hold. So they agree to undertake the desperate measure of TMAU to take the stinkin' out of their thinkin'.
