Short Description: Multiple Personality Disorder
In most cases, Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) are caused by damaged memory filters which allow past life personalities to control the present body-mind.

Causes: Memory filters in the mind are designed to help individual access their past life skills and talents without connecting with the "past life personalities" who earned them. What normally happens is, when an individual is in crisis, they access the "unused" part of their brain (where all their past life data is stored) to help them overcome it. Often the past life personality was an integral part of exercise of the talent or skill, which is why the mind needs to filter out the "personality" from the "learned skill or talent". When the crisis is averted, the pathway to that part of their brain is automatically shut off by the mind's past life filters.

In Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), the crises are either so severe or so chronic and long lasting that past life filters will no longer function properly. The mind then has difficulty distinguishing between the current and all prior personalities. In a sense, the prior personalities come back to life and fight for the attention of the current body-mind. In MPD, a host of prior personalities jockey for position at the forefront of the person's awareness and end up "taking turns".

Symptoms: Not all cases of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) have past life origins. Many cases of these disorders are caused by present day stresses shattering the mind like glass into several distinct pieces. Here is how to tell if MPD has "past life origins":

1> If the "alternate" personality cannot grasp technology that the "current" personality has already mastered (ie. in the famous "Eve" case, one of the "alter" personalities was unable to drive a car).

2> If the "alternate" personality demonstrates "life experience" that is clearly outside the realm of the "current" personality's experience (ie. a housewife with an "alter" that is a "soldier of fortune").

3> If the "alternate" personality is obviously struggling with the syntax of the native language of the "current" personality (ie. using English as if it were Spanish as in "love of mine" and not "my love").

4> If the "alternate" personality continually uses antiquated references to items that the "current" personality knows the correct and current terms for (ie. referring to an "automobile" as a "horseless carriage").

5> If the multiple "alternate" personalities (MPD) are mostly of the opposite gender from the "current" personality (ie. all male alters "inside" a female). This differs widely from "present day" cases of MPD where"alters" are normally the same person in the same sex at various stages of their aging process (as in one "alter" being frozen at age 7, another at age 10, and a third at age 13 and so on).

After Effects: Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) is usually life sentences without possibility of parole in any given incarnation, unless the sufferer works with a therapist to reintegrate their many personalities into one.

Advice: Those who have agreed to take on the overwhelming challenges of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD) almost always have "heavy karma" that is unlikely to be resolved in the space of a single lifetime. The best thing they can do is to seek out the daily intensive psychiatric counseling with the emphasis on reintegrating the shattered pieces of their mind into a new wholeness so that it can be carried forward into future incarnations. Mind altering drugs should only be used in the worst cases only to move the healing efforts forward.
