Dermatopathia Pigmentosa Reticularis (DPR) is a rare genetic condition (part of Ectodermal Dysplasia Syndromes) where the individual is born without fingerprints.

Causes: Dermatopathia Pigmentosa Reticularis (DPR) is occupational hazard karma. In past lives, people often worked in hazardous conditions without the proper protection for their bodies that we take for granted today. Here are some professions where the fingerprints were routinely burned off over time:

* Metal Worker Karma: In past lives, those who forged items out of molten metal were always burning off their fingerprints while handling hot instruments. At first, when the fingers healed the prints would resurface. Over time, with multiple incidents of burned fingertips, the prints would gradually wear away. Also, the constant exposure to high temperatures would burn out overused, overworked sweat glands. Quite simply, the body got used to higher temperatures and did not use sweat to regulate body temperature because it proved to be ineffective.

* Glass Worker Karma: In past lives, those who worked with glass handled hot instruments which wore out the fingertips over time in the same way as metal workers. They also got acclimated to high temperatures and burned out their sweat glands. Glass workers had the additional hazard of always shredding their fingertips by handling broken glass. Repetitive damage to their fingertips became permanent.

* Tanner Karma: In past lives, those who tanned hides using acid were always corroding their skin as they worked. The fingertips were usually the first casualty of the acid. As with metal workers, the fingertips would grow back and then gradually fade away. Their hands would be ruined by the acid and they would be left with brittle nails and dry, mottled skin from the repeated use of corrosive acid.

* Painter Karma: In past lives, those who painted usually had to create their own paints (there were no art supply stores around the corner). Many artists liked to mix their paint and to get their hands dirty in the process. Often corrosive materials were used and over time their fingertips were worn off. Poison in the paint would seep into the skin, eventually causing extremely thin hair and brittle teeth.
