Exercise: Mirror of the Loving Soul: Changing Your World for the Better Summary: Get Your Daily Minimum Requirement of the "Love" Vitamin For Quick Access to This Exercise: To get to the parts of this exercise you are most interested in viewing, click on the link below to go there. For best results, read through the entire exercise at least once. Background on This Exercise Background: Many times people seek counseling because they want to someone else in a significant relationship to change. The truth is there is only relationship you ever have and that one is with yourself. Other people are simply mirrors for the relationship you already have inside you. As you learn to love yourself, others learn to love you. So to change your world, you need to start with yourself. Goal: The goal is to make sure you have the proper daily love vitamins you need to nourish your body, mind, and spirit. Like a vitamin, this is quick and easy to do. The human body was meant to receive and give love on a daily basis. Your body has a daily minimum requirement for love just as it does for air, water, food, or any other vital nutrient. Failure to get your daily minimum requirement of love is just as harmful to you as failure to receive any other vital nutrient. Most people lead lives of quiet desperation simply because they are lacking in these love vitamins. The only preparation is to do this exercise every day for 60 days. If you miss a day, you have to start all over again. When you can get through it for the full 60 days, I guarantee that your life will be transformed for the better. 1> Each morning upon wakening, go to a mirror where you can look yourself deeply in the eye. While smiling, look at your own face and repeat the following statements three times. Repeat these statements with intense emotion and really believe them. If you cannot feel they are true when you start, just "fake it until you make it" true. At some point, you will be able to say them with sincerity. "God loves me just as I am right now at this moment" 2> As you go throughout the day, for every person you see whether you speak with them or not, say silently to yourself "I love you as Soul". If you happen to see yourself in a mirror (while stopped at a traffic light), say "I love you as Soul". Soul Love is impersonal and unromantic. You can love someone's Soul even if you actually hate everything about them because their Soul is the "love" part of them. It is the perfect part that God sees, that God knows, that God loves. 3> Each evening upon retiring to bed, go to a mirror where you can look yourself deeply in the eye. While smiling, look at your own face and repeat the following statements three times. Repeat these statements with intense emotion and really believe them. If you cannot feel they are true when you start, then just "fake it until you make it" true. At some point, you will be able to say them with sincerity. "Thank you, God, for this day, for this day is life: What you are doing is creating a revolution from within yourself. As you change yourself, the world changes around you ("as above, so below"). If this does nothing else but end the struggle inside yourself, it is worth it. If this does nothing else but give your body the daily minimum dose of love it needs to survive and stay healthy, it is worth it. If this does nothing else but show you how truly wonderful you are, it is worth it. In doing this exercise, you have nothing to lose but your problems... if that is truly your goal.
