Quite literally, you pick up in your next life where you left off in this
one. So when it is apparent to you that this life is drawing to a close,
you will be doing yourself a huge karmic favor by getting ready for your
next life before this one ends.
The good news is that you are already way ahead of most people
because you know that death is just an end of one lifetime not the end of
life itself. Those who do not know or cannot accept the "good news" of
reincarnation only make things harder by dragging those fears of death into
the between life state or into their next life.
So when it comes to "crossing over", the most important thing to
remember is that "it ain't over, until it's over". In other words, use
every moment in this life to clear up unfinished business. Here is what
you can do to "get ready for your next life".
* Empower Yourself:
Just as you would prepare for a new
career by reading up on it in advance, you empower yourself to face death
by becoming more in tune with your own spirituality. The more you understand
the truth of your existence - the nature of life, the universe, karma, your
capacity for development - the less you will fear death. Understanding
what crossing over (or translating) from one life to the next involves
takes the fear out of the process.
* Empower Others:
Death gives you a unique opportunity to
empower others. Do not wait for the will to be read... start giving away
your possessions to others who can benefit from them. Be joyful in the
giving: let your loved ones know that you can go more peacefully knowing
that they will enjoy your gifts. Take the fear out of death for them by
telling them the "good news" of reincarnation... that you will continue
on as spirit and your love for them will never die.
* Amends/Forgiveness:
When you are on your deathbed, making
amends to those you have wronged or extending forgiveness to those who have
wronged you, are powerful actions that do much to clear your karma. Although
it is wonderful to apologize or forgive silently, it is more empowering
when you can communicate sincere forgiveness or amends from your heart to
others. Often this can "save" you and the others involved from having to
come into another life, creating the same kind of pain between you, and then
having to resolve it.
* Love/Appreciation:
When you are on your deathbed, expressing
love and appreciation to those who have encouraged, helped, and supported
you, unleashes powerful energies that help you to pass over more
pleasantly. Although it is wonderful to express appreciation and love silently,
it is more empowering when you can communicate your true feelings from
the heart to others. Ending your life with loving thoughts helps you attract
a more loving situation next time.
* Imagine Your Next Life:
As with anything else in the universe,
you stand a greater chance of getting what you want when you ask for it!
Think ahead to what you would like to experience in your next life. Visualize
it and ask what you can do in this life to achieve that goal. The answers
you will receive just may surprise you.
* Practices for the Final Moment:
Just as pregnant women
practice the ways of breathing, thinking, and feeling to make the birth
process easier, those approaching death should practice similar things to
make their passing more pleasant and set the stage for their next life.
There are many practices on this site you can use for this purpose like
the Breathing Patterns,
the Reiki Heart Anchor, or
the Loving Kindness Meditation.
Choose a practice and use it to face the challenges of dying so that you
can do it easily when facing death.
You will find that as you are getting ready for your next life,
you will come to greater peace with this one. That is what the whole
process of getting ready for death is all about. Know that we wish you
well on all your journeys through life.
Most people have never heard of the word "escheat"... that is usually
because it never comes up until someone has "crossed over" into death and
their relatives get "es-cheated" out of their inheritance.
"Escheat" is the legal means of property being "returned" to the
government upon the death of the owner because there is "no one" to inherit
the property. An extension of the escheat principle is "unclaimed property"
that is "returned" to the government upon being abandoned by it's owner for
an extended period of time.
Typical examples of escheated/unclaimed property include: dormant
bank accounts (no activity for 6 months, a year, or more), forgotten uncashed
checks, stocks/dividends, bonds/interest, insurance proceeds, utility refunds,
and safety deposit box contents.
The government will try to find the "rightful" heirs of such property
by publishing microscopic ads in newspapers where no one would think to look
or by listing heirs on web pages that are hard to locate. The bottom line is
that the government silently grows richer by the day due to the financial
carelessness of people who cannot face the prospect of their death and so do
nothing to prepare for it.
There is only one way to prevent your loved ones from being "es-cheated"!
That is to keep good records and good care of your financial assets so that
when you do "cross over" your loved ones can quickly determine what they
are entitled to and where to find it!
Give a copy of your financial inventory to your lawyer or someone
you can trust. This inventory should list: your safety deposit box, your
will, deed to your house, title to your car, bank accounts, credit cards,
stocks, bonds, mutual funds, brokerage accounts, money market accounts,
retirement plans, insurance policies (life, health, mortgage, credit card,
car, house), utility and rent deposits, employer and union benefits, trust
payments and annuities, any refundable prepaid items (layaways, deposits,
premiums, etc), and any anticipated payments (insurance proceeds, retirement
benefits, stock dividends, and interest, including when they are due to be paid).
Be sure to cash every check or money order as soon as you get it.
Use gift certificates and travelers checks quickly. Notify everyone promptly
about changes of name or address. Follow up by phone or mail when you fail
to receive a statement or a payment because clerical and computer errors are
a common way "to lose things".
Finally, check with state and federal agencies responsible for
unclaimed property "before you go" to make sure nothing has been overlooked.
For more information on unclaimed property and escheat search online.
You will be able to leave this life with greater peace of mind if
you know that those you love and leave behind receive all the financial
abundance that you have been blessed with in this lifetime.
Helping loved ones to cross over to the inner worlds gives you rich
opportunities to clear the karma between you. The Lords of Karma are
quite willing to overlook years of problematic relations if, in the final
moments of life, those who are "partners in karma" can create real peace
and harmony between them by sincere expressions of love.
More than any single action in your life, how you help or fail to
help others cross over has a great impact on the karma between you. For
while you are in life, you are yet in hope of solving your karmic difficulties.
Once death ends your relationship, it cannot move forward until future
lives give you another opportunity. Here is what you can do to help others
cross over peacefully:
* Becoming a Beacon of Peace: The best way to help someone
who is dying is to be a "beacon of peace yourself". You must free yourself
of emotions that can only upset the dying, like anger, worry, fear, sadness,
etc. If your emotions are not under control, you cannot help the dying to
come to peace with their own difficult situation.
* Imagine Your Next Life:
Giving Permission/Letting Go: So often loved ones "hang on"
to bodies and minds racked with pain because others they love cannot or
will not let them go. So be willing to let the dying one go. Give them
permission to leave their life. Listen to whatever they wish to say so
that they can go in peace. Be kind, sensitive, supportive, and above all,
stay focused on the needs of the dying one.
* Amends/Forgiveness:
When loved ones are on their deathbed,
that is the time for you to ask for their forgiveness and make amends to
them if you have wronged them. Similarly, if they have wronged you, it
is time for you to accept their apologies with heartfelt sincerity. It
is not the time for you to treat them as if they were a priest in a
confessional. Let the dying person guide the process and do not focus on
"unburdening" your conscience. Let them unburden.
* Love/Appreciation:
When loved ones are on their deathbed,
that is the time for you to express your love and appreciation to them for
all their help, encouragement, and support. Your last memories of giving
them the gift of love helps you with the grief process. If they have a
last request, try to fulfill it while they are still alive. If you cannot,
fulfill it faithfully after death.
* Support/Encouragement:
Encourage the dying person to practice
whatever familiar religious rituals will bring them comfort. If you can
help them do these practices, that is wonderful. Yet this is not the time
to get them to do anything new or to expose them to beliefs, like reincarnation,
which could bring them comfort but may be opposed to their lifelong
religious teachings.
* Provide Reassurance:
Help the dying person not to worry
about their loved ones and their possessions. Soothe their fears of what
lies ahead using their religious beliefs. Get a minister of their faith
to spend time with them. Help them to focus on positive thoughts and to
deal with their negative emotions. Support them anyway you can.
Helping someone who is dying to have a peaceful and positive
transition is one of the greatest acts of kindness you can perform. Remember
the Lords of Karma are watching!
As Soul, we are eternal. "Lives" are our existence as physical
beings - for discrete units of time where we are born, age, and die to gain
experience from different viewpoints - are the lives we lead.
We forget about those lives we have lived before (our past lives),
are disconnected from those we will live (our future lives), so that we
can focus our attention on the experience we have chosen today.
The "Inter Life" is our existence between two physical incarnations
- where we leave the last one and prepare for the next one.
In the Inter Life, we are concerned with our own development
as Soul into greater states of love. As a result, we are confined to the
areas in the inner worlds which we will use to help us prepare for our
next life.
In the Inter Life, we grow as we prepare to live again in another
physical body (usually referred to as the bardo state). A new
life gets "formed" from the "failed lessons" from past lives. While "physically
alive", an individual is in the process of clearing past life karma or
adding to future life karma until they reach their last physical life.
Most of the time we are either living or between lives. Although
some past life karma can be worked off during the Inter Life, the
majority of issues from past lives carry over from one life to the next.
Life is like a football game and the Inter Life is like the time
between games when the team reviews their mistakes from the last game,
lays out strategies for the next game, and heals wounds gotten along the
way. All that matters to the fans (your guides and the Lords of Karma) is
how you do once you are out on the field of Life.
Although what you do in the Inter Life is helpful, it somewhat
"goes out the window" when you take the field again and become caught up
in the passion and the intensity of your Life's drama. Like the football
game, once the game of your life starts again, you remember the times
when the other team burned you. Maybe you chose to avenge the wrong and
maybe you chose to forgive it.
Whatever you decide, those choices must be made in a split second
while you are on the field of Life with emotions surging through you and
onlookers screaming for blood. You do not get the luxury of quiet time in
the locker room of the Inter Life with your team of coaches
to decide what may be in your best interest in the long run.
This month's featured page outlines the steps that we undergo as
we cross over from one life to the next. It will help you to understand
what it is like to die and live again. Hopefully, this understanding will
take some of the fear out of this process for you!
From About.com Paranormal News: "Mankind has long believed that it is possible
to communicate with the dead. Attempts to do so have been made over the centuries
through oracles, séances, mediums and psychics. Today, with a variety of
electronic equipment at our disposal, there might be an easier, more effective
way. Whether or not the results really are communication with the dead - or
something else - the results seem to be quite real."
"Electronic voice phenomena - or EVP - is a mysterious event in which
human-sounding voices from an unknown source are heard on recording tape, in
radio station noise and other electronic media. Most often, EVPs have been
captured on audiotape. The mysterious voices are not heard at the time of
recording; it is only when the tape is played back that the voices are heard.
Sometimes amplification and noise filtering is required to hear the voices."
"The most fascinating aspect of EVP is that the voices sometimes respond
directly to the persons making the recording. The researchers will ask a
question... and the voice will answer or comment. Again, this response is not
heard until later when the tape is played back."
This article goes onto give the history of EVP in the 20th century.
"It is not generally known that in the 1920s Thomas Edison tried to invent
a machine that would communicate with the dead."
"Thinking this was possible,
he wrote: 'If our personality survives, then it is strictly logical or
scientific to assume that it retains memory, intellect, other faculties,
and knowledge that we acquire on this Earth. Therefore... if we can evolve
an instrument so delicate as to be affected by our personality as it survives
in the next life, such an instrument, when made available, ought to record
something.'"
Despite Edison's confident assertion on EVP, the scientific community
has largely turned it's back on EVP as it has consistently done in all areas
of study having to do with the immortality of Soul, such as reincarnation.
Yet research on Near Death Experiences (NDE) is proving to be the thin end of
the wedge into the scientific world.
EVP studies will be right behind it because,
unlike NDEs, EVP lends itself to the measurable, quantifiable, and repeatable
experiments that science claims to value so highly. Once again, Edison will
be seen to be the scientific genius he truly was!
In post-World War II Los Angeles, a man convicted for the murder of his
wife tells the newspaper reporter covering the case that "this is far
from over". A strange statement from this man, Roman Strauss, a German
world famous composer and conductor, who was moments away from execution.
His wife, Margaret, a British pianist, was killed in their home. All
the evidence pointed to her husband as the killer.
Flash forward to 1990s Los Angeles, where Mike Church has been
requested by a local priest to uncover the identity of a pretty woman who
came to their door. She has lost her voice and her memory. When Mike puts
an ad in the paper hoping someone will recognize her, the only
reply is from a a hypnotist, Franklyn Madson. He believes a trauma from
her past life may be causing her mute amnesia.
Under hypnosis, the amnesiac begins to see visions from Roman and
Margaret's life. She regains her voice, but not her memory. As she and
Mike grow closer, she notices similarities between their growing relationship
and that of the ill fated Roman and Margaret. The karma goes into overdrive
when they all discover Mike was the reincarnation of Margaret and the
amnesia victim was the reincarnation of Roman.
The truth that Franklyn as the boy "Frankie" was Margaret's real
killer leads to a death struggle between the older Frankie and Mike. Karma
has given the murdered Margaret the chance to avenge her death as well as
to resume the love cut short in the past by tragedy.
The final climatic scene shows how the events set in motion in
the past have their exact parallel in present day events. This is one
of the clearest depictions of the inner workings of karma that I have
ever seen on the silver screen. If you have never seen this movie and
want a crash course in reincarnation, this movie is for you.

In their own words: The American Association of Electronic Voice
Phenomena (AA-EVP) "is an association of people who seek to better understand
the nature of unexpected paranormal information that is frequently discovered
on recording devices."
AA-EVP was "established in 1982 to provide objective evidence that
we survive death in an individual conscious state. Members understand that
this 'objective evidence' must be based on good science... Great care is taken
by the members to maintain an objective view of the phenomena. Yes, the
evidence does strongly indicate that the messages are nonphysical in origin;
however, members recognize that there are other possible explanations."
"Today, AA-EVP members are experimenting with a wide variety of
devices and testing many different concepts. The most common experimental
approach is the use of an audio tape recorder, microphone and background
sound source."
AA-EVP also is experimenting with recording paranormal activity
with "a computer... telephone based devices, such as answering machines...
video cameras and computer-based video editing software. Any device that
can record information, be it a still camera or a digital note recorder,
(will be) tried in EVP.
