Life is a journey of discovery. The greatest discovery you are meant to make
is that you can create as much health, wealth, freedom, peace, and joy as you
desire. Achieving personal wellness and vibrant health are essential to
creating the life that you desire.
Regardless of the karmic baggage that you are carrying, there are
things that you can do right now to promote personal wellness to increase
the level of wellness that you can experience.
* Spiritual-Intention/Desire:
If you want to achieve vibrant
health, then you MUST intend to, have the DESIRE to, and ACT on being healthy.
So many people use their health problems as a shield to avoid confronting
their issues and so have no intention/desire/action to be healthy. If you
have no intention/desire/action to be well, it means that you have one to
be ill and have gotten your wish.
* Physical-Fresh Air:
Adding a daily dose of "fresh air" to
your diet will help your body stay healthy. People were not meant to spend
so much time indoors cut off from nature. When you are outside, breathe
deeply and take in the life force and energy of the Earth.
* Physical-Good Nutrition:
Eat right and drink plenty of water.
Eating right means eating natural, "whole" foods rich in vitamins and minerals
so that you do not have to rely on nutritional supplements to experience daily
energy and vitality. Drinking plenty of water means drinking purified water
(being liquid does not mean it qualifies as water) every day at least 8 glasses
of 1 0 ounces).
* Physical-Exercise/Weight Control:
The best exercise is walking
and you can do that for free without going to a gym. Exercising helps you to
stay fit by circulating energy in your body. Maintaining a healthy body weight
strengthens your immune system, reduces your risk of disease, and allows you
to actively participate in life.
* Physical-Sleep/Relaxation:
Rest and relaxation are needed to
help your body stay strong in the highly toxic modern environment. Not
only does sleep and relaxation relive stress but they help the body to perform
the internal cleansing necessary for vibrant health.
* Mental/Emotional-Give and Receive Love:
Giving and receiving
love freely and generously is the best way to create meaningful, lasting
relationships that bring joy in happy times, strength in difficult times,
and peace that lasts a lifetime.
* Mental/Emotional-Practice Gratitude:
Recognizing and appreciating
all you have received opens you to receive more. The attitude of gratitude
leads you forward in living your greatest joy.
* Mental/Emotional-Extend Forgiveness:
Forgive yourself and
others everything. Forgiveness gives you freedom from the negative thoughts
and emotions that poison your life and rob you of the joy and
happiness that are essential components of vibrant health.
* Mental/Emotional-Develop Compassion:
Being compassionate
allows you to forgive and to accept yourself and others. Part
of compassion is the courage to change things for the better, tolerance for
what you cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.
* Spiritual-Seek Meaning:
If you were not seeking
meaning in your life, you would not be reading this ezine. Meaning gives
your life power and purpose, filling your days with accomplishment and
allowing you to sleep satisfied you have used your time well.
The above may seem very basic... but so often in the rush of modern
day living, people forget about these basics. Then they wonder why they
feel so lousy all the time. If you are not feeling your best, consult the
list above. It is likely you are neglecting some very basic but important
principles of achieving personal wellness.
Achieving good financial health - financial wellness - is a valuable
investment in peace of mind. While personal financial situations are
bound to be different, here are some simple tips for achieving financial
wellness that everyone can use.
Educate Yourself About Finance:
The biggest mistake you can make
is to blindly hand over the management of your finances to another. To
achieve financial wellness, you need to stay in touch with your money and
know where you stand with it. Take classes, read magazines,
watch the financial news, money advice is everywhere.
Plan Your Spending:
No one likes to do this... but it works. If
you take time to prepare a budget listing what plan to spend and stick to
it, you will make your money go farther. Looking at what you actually
spend and comparing it to your budget gives you valuable information about
where your money is going versus where you want it to go.
Invest Your Raises:
Most people tend to spend more as they earn
more. So when they get a hard earned raise, they usually will go out and
splurge. A better strategy is to allocate raises to savings and investments
and continue to live on your "old" money. This is a very painless way to
save: it works because you are paying yourself first!
Have an Emergency Fund:
At a minimum, you should have an "employment
emergency fund" to cover your living expenses for six months in the event
you are unemployed. Ideally, you should have a "disaster contingency fund"
to cover large, unexpected expenses for a house or car repair or
for unanticipated legal or health problems.
Saving Versus Investing:
Saving is for short term needs; investing
is for long term needs. Do not use savings to invest. When investing, be
sure that you can live with the risk. If you cannot sleep at night because
you are worrying too much about losing your investments, invest in something
else with a more tolerable level of risk.
Get FREE Money:
If your employer will match your contribution to
an retirement and investment plan, then contribute to get FREE money from
your employer. If you can contribute more comfortably, then do so because
having it deducted means you are not likely to miss it.
Watch Automated Transfers:
Being able to access cash 24 hours a
day by ATM withdrawals, debit cards, preauthorized credits, or instant
transfers is great... but it should be planned and controlled. It is very
easy to lose sight of "automated hits" to your checking account.
Deal With Your Debt:
These days owning a house and a car means
going into debt. The best strategy to deal with debt is to pay down the
high interest rate debt first. Even if that debt is not the smallest
balance, the high interest rate debt is what is costing you the most!
Remember the Tax Man:
Those who are the most financially well are
those who structure their financial affairs to minimize taxes wherever
possible. Even if you do not engage in formal tax planning, be mindful
of taxes and be ready to pay them when they arise.
Remember Retirement:
You are never too young to start planning
about how to make all your retirement dreams come true. One day you may
not want to or you may not be able to work. So it is important to devote
time and thought to planning your retirement.
Doing all or most of the things on this list will go along way to
helping you balance your financial karma. That alone is worth the effort
that it takes to create lasting financial wellness.
If you search the Internet, you will find that it is full of advice about
what creates dysfunctional and destructive relationships. And yet what
people want are functional and supportive relationships.
Sadly, there is lots less advice out there about how relationships
"should be". Knowing what to look for has is more useful than what to avoid.
For when relationships are what they "should be" then the dysfunction and
destruction are drained right out of them!
So forget all you have been taught about "The Rules" (about how
women trap men) and "The Code" (about how men trap women). If you want a
spiritual, loving, intimate relationship, then here the top ten things
that should characterize it. These are the top ten "I's" that create
truly lasting, harmonious, and successful "We's".
Individual Excellence:
Both partners are individually strong
and whole. The partners are together because they want to be
(sharing strength) rather than needing to be (overcoming weakness).
Integrity:
Both partners act honestly and honorably toward
one another at all times. Each partner always has the other's best interests
at heart and demonstrates their love by actions consistent with words.
Importance:
Both partners give to each other what is easy
and natural for them to give because their relationship is very important
to each one. Both share the deepest love and respect for one another.
In Love Mode:
Both partners express their
affection in one of the "Five Languages of Love": Words of Love, Gifts
of Devotion, Acts of Service, Sharing of Quality Time, and Intimate
Physical Touch.
Interdependence:
Both partners feel that they need one
another. They feel that they are extraordinarily lucky to be in
the relationship. They feel privileged to be making their journey
together through life.
Independence:
Both partners agree on the space and time
that is necessary for each to pursue individual interests. As each partner
honors their own uniqueness, that in turn strengthens their relationship.
Information:
Both partners are constantly communicating and
genuinely enjoy sharing every aspect of life. The communication is open,
honest, and free flowing. There are no secrets.
Integration:
Both partners are joined at many levels. This
integration includes constant sharing of leisure time, sharing of living
space, sharing of money, sharing of tasks, and, of course, sharing of love.
Informality:
Both partners must feel at home in each other's
hearts. This means that each partner must feel and must be completely safe
and comfortable in "letting their hair down" around the other.
In Motion:
Both partners must treat their relationship like
a garden: it must be nurtured and fed constantly. Problems must be rooted
out immediately. New items should be added periodically for variety.
The bottom line is great relationships provide the security, love
and nurturing that is required for both to become fully realized human
beings. The best part is that the love, joy, and respect between you only
grows deeper and broader over time. Thanks to my beloved darling for
teaching me this over the course of many lifetimes.
Today's numerous health problems are largely caused because most people
have lost touch with the basics. Worse, most do not know what the basics
are. Fortunately, there is a lot of ancient wisdom about the basics of
life as relevant today as they were millenia ago. It is relevant because
the "hardware" - body, mind, and spirit - has not changed much since these
teachings "came out".
This month's featured page gives selections on "the simple way of
holistic living" from the "Hua Hu Ch'ing", the oral teachings of the Chinese
master, Lao Tse. These teachings are not widely known in the West but they
should be for their still timely wisdom.
"In ancient times, people lived holistic lives...."
"They did not overemphasize the intellect, but integrated body, mind,
and spirit in all things. This allowed them to become masters of knowledge
rather than victims of concepts. If a new invention appeared, they looked
for the troubles it might cause as well as the shortcuts it offered. They
valued old ways that had been proven effective, they valued new ways
if they could be proven effective."
"If you want to stop being confused, then emulate these ancient folk:"
..........Join your body, mind, and spirit in all you do.
..........Choose food, clothing, and shelter that accords with nature.
..........Rely on your own body for transportation.
..........Allow your work and your recreation to be one and the same.
..........Do exercise developing your being and not just your body.
..........Listen to music that bridges your body, mind, and spirit...
..........Serve others and cultivate yourself simultaneously."
"Understand that true growth comes from meeting and solving the
problems of life in a way that is harmonizing to yourself and others. If
you can follow these simple old ways, you will be renewed."
The past is still present even in the present day news.
From the Intenet: "By all indicators, if modern medicine were a
manufacturing industry, it's doors would now be starting to close for a
'reorganization'. It has lost the battle on several fronts: cancer, viral
infections, bacterial infections, degenerative arthritis, osteoporosis,
and vascular disease, to name a few."
"Glossing over it all is 'media medicine': Siamese twin separations,
surgery on media figures, organ transplants on forgotten heroes, macabre
pictures of trauma services, TV shows on emergency rooms, etc. This all
amounts to a glorification of trauma, for example, by making it's management
into television entertainment."
"...It is impossible to view television without endless commercials
on every type of over the counter medication imaginable. Actors very competently
present 'scientific' data on the effectiveness of one headache medicine or
the other. The message is so clever that one feels a little stupid not having
this stuff around! Personally, I'd rather figure out how to avoid the headache
in the first place."
"...What we are doing (with high-tech pharmaco-industrial medicine)
as the equivalent of putting a new valve stem in the wheel of a twenty year
old vehicle that has had only five oil changes in its life. Yes, the tire
will now hold air and we can 'limp' the vehicle into the garage for expensive
tests and follow-up. But is this sensible or cost-effective? Impeccable,
inexpensive maintenance by the owner of the vehicle over the twenty years
would have prevented all of the expensive problems and eliminated the mechanic."
"And so it is now with 'health care', a misnomer; it is 'sick care'.
What if tomorrow no one was sick? This is the logical progression to... a
well designed national (illness) prevention program. Sounds great! (But)
unemployment would obviously increase. Illness as a major employer in America
is a fact of life."
"The whole system boils down to keep(ing) a lot of folks employed,
paying taxes, buying insurance, but getting slowly sicker, so they will
then recycle all of their money into the system through costly, interventional
medicine. Costs have long outstripped contributions."
"...Now we have 'managed care'... which means... governmental
bureaucracy is now managing the purse strings of the easiest targets: doctors
and hospitals. It is now obvious that the system is a failure that is bankrupting
the entire government."
"A parallel industry... 'Wellness and Prevention through Lifestyle
Counseling' is rising along with 'alternative medicine'. Central to prevention
are lifestyle changes, including... exercise programs... Scientific data
abounds on the effectiveness of exercise on the prevention or resolution of
the 'diseases' of sedentary living... (that) comprise nearly all of what
modern medicine treats."
"...Now we are back to (the question) 'What if tomorrow no one was
sick?'" The answer should be obvious: Sounds great! By the way, wellness
is as ancient as time itself... the past is still present!

Litigation Coming" by Marc D. Breehl, MD see

Compare the "lower consciousness" attitude of this statement...
"It's the same things your whole life. 'Clean up your room!',
'Stand up straight!', 'Pick up your feet!', 'Take it like a man!', 'Be
nice to your sister!', 'Don't mix beer and wine!'. 'Don't drive
on the railroad track!'... I'm not living by their rules anymore!"
... with the "higher consciousness" attitude of this statement.
"When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and
dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in
the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Punxsutawney and
basking in the of warmth of their hearts, I couldn't imagine
a better fate than a long and lustrous winter."
Hard to believe that they could have been made by the same person,
let alone on the same day. Yet they were... sort of.
In the small town of Punxsutawney, PA, TV weatherman,
Phil Connors finds himself trapped in a time warp. He keeps on
reliving the same day, Groundhog Day, over again. No matter what
he does during the course of any given day - including dying - he wakes
up the "next day" back to where he started on Groundhog Day.
When he starts his journey through Groundhog Day, Phil is arrogant,
sarcastic, totally self absorbed, without hope, and cut off from others.
Instead of cruising through his day on automatic pilot, Phil is forced to
decide how to use each day that exists for him as a world apart. For the
next day, only Phil will remember how he spent the day "before": to everyone
else, it is a new day like any other.
Although he does not realize it, Phil starts to make the journey
through his chakras... through himself. At first, he manipulates others
to get sex, money, and power (Root Chakra). Bored with that, he moves onto
a creative project (Sacral Chakra) in trying to bed his lovely producer,
Rita, who barely tolerates him. So he tries to mold himself in to being
the very man she wants (Solar Plexus Chakra) because he asks Rita one day
what her perfect man would be. She tells him and, of course, does not
remember doing so the "next" day.
So Phil decides to work on himself and on a master plan of a perfect
day to get Rita to sleep with him before the day ends. In doing so, he slowly
opens to allowing the better man inside him to emerge (Heart Chakra). Rita is
attracted... but she wants to wait and build a relationship.
For Phil, there is no tomorrow so he steps
up the pressure by trying to talk his way into her heart (Throat Chakra).
Still the same day keeps ending the same way: Rita refuses Phil's
advances. Finally, Phil realizes (Third Eye Chakra) that he "has come to
the end of me" and thanks Rita "for the nice day we had once". So he tries
to kill himself... but is back the next day. As he mournfully tells Rita
(another day), "I've been stabbed, shocked, poisoned, frozen, hung, electrocuted, and burned.
Every day I wake up without a scratch on me, not a dent in the fender...
I am an immortal!"
Realizing there is no way out of his situation... he accepts it.
One day when Rita begins to believe Phil's story about being trapped in a
time loop, she asks "so what do you do with immortality?" This sets Phil
on a project of self improvement (Crown Chakra) made possible by the endless
cycle of days. He learns how to play the piano. He learns poetry. He
rescues others. He gets to know everyone in town.
On one amazing day, Phil touches the lives of many locals in the
small town becoming it's local hero... which ends up touching Rita's heart.
Phil breaks through to being the best he can be: where he is a walking
beacon of creativity, compassion, and caring. He is the man that Rita
had always wanted. By trapping himself in Groundhog Days, Phil has freed
his true self from layers of ego defenses that did not serve him and he
becomes a model of spiritual wellness.
